Testimonials

While the Living Link technology makes for absolutely zero pedal bob on the climbs, the slack geometry allows the bike to thrash the descents. The cockpit is open and super comfortable on long rides, and most importantly, it is very light.

//Chris S.

My new Spot bike is amazing. It is so light, I can climb easily. Every once of effort translates into propulsion! I find it easier to maintain my balance than on my old bike too.

//Liz Tucker

If your looking for the bike that helps you up the mountain but still lets you rip down it, this is your bike! I’ve spent some quality time in the saddle and this bike does not disappoint.

2019 EDITORS' CHOICE AND "CLASS LEADER"

I rode Spot’s 115 on the trails near our Pennsylvania office and in Durango, Colorado. I also gave it to trusted testers to ride and provide feedback as well.

Spot’s Living Link rear suspension doesn’t feel like any other dual-link system. It feels brighter and livelier—like the back end is moving more quickly.

I stopped several times on my first ride to check that shock’s rebound damping was set correctly —it was....

MF TESTED: SPOT RYVE 115 29

“... something became clear from my first start at the local Wednesday night race series: The Ryve carries its momentum flawlessly. As I sprinted out of the saddle away from the starting line up a grassy, long slight incline, the Ryve felt neither squishy nor bogged down in teh thick grass, even with its suspension fully open. Instead, it accelerated smoothly and efficiently forward, catapulting me, surprisingly, into the front...

I love this bike!

I have always struggled climbing and the effort often impacts the rest of my ride - descents, Technicals, surprises. The engineering, 29er wheels and gearing gives me just what I need to top each hill with juice still in my tank. Between the Living Link, pedal crank length and frame setup my position is always correct to find the gear to conquer the climb.

On decents getting the seat out of the way and lowering my center of gravity makes me faster. Slower descents happen when seated high and surprises come with bigger penalties without a dropper post. The Living Link glues my wheels to the trail. And, when the inevitable surprise appears knowing that control is reliable builds confidence that maybe I can ride this segment better than ever. I love this bike!

Sweet Ride Ryve 100

As a reward for myself to finish a 6 state, 29 day, 2,000 miles, and 80,000 feet of climbing I scheduled a SPOT Bike demo when we made it to Denver. SPOT Bikes, Golden, Colorado, https://spotbikes.com/ has engineering innovations that fit my climbing and overall ride needs for Pennsylvania mountain single track and Florida mountain bike parks that are just as challenging as they are different from PA or Colorado. I enjoy my 5 year old SPOT ROllik in Florida and thought that a SPOT Mayhem might be a good replacement for my well worn Cannondale Lefty. After discussing my needs with SPOT owner, Andrew Lumpkin, son of Living Link innovator and Avid Disc brake inventor, Wayne Lumpkin, I chose a SPOT Ryve 100 for its 29er climbing ease and short shock for Pennsylvania tracks. The Fox front and rear suspension combined with the SPOT Living Link and the 12 speed SRAM XO1 Eagle tranny my Ryve’s shift response finds the perfect gear to float up hills that used to give me a lot of trouble and hard work. Weighing in at 27 lbs, after I added pedals, water bottle and cage, lights, Garmin and Ergo grips my new Ryve 100 full suspension is lighter than my Lefty hard tail. And, fast! One sweet ride!

Fast on the up and down

I came from a crazy light ~20lbs hard tail...this bike is so efficient at climbing even with a bit more weight than my old bike I am still getting PRs on the climbs. Then when I point it downhill I beat my descent PRs too! Love this bike. I was concerned about the 2nd bottle holder on the other side of the downtube but it has proven to be pretty easy to use!

The Ultimate Racing Machine

I'm in high school, and currently racing in the Northern California High School Mountain Bike Racing League, or NorCal for short. For the first two seasons, my freshman and sophomore years, I had a hard time placing in the top ten. However, when my family finally buckled down and bought a brand new 2020 Spot Ryve 100 29 in the SRAM 6-star build kit, the very first race of the season I made 4th- my highest finish yet. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the rest of the race season was cancelled, but even so, I am convinced that the Ryve 100 is the ultimate racing machine.

While the Living Link technology makes for absolutely zero pedal bob on the climbs, the slack geometry allows the bike to thrash the descents. The cockpit is open and super comfortable on long rides, and most importantly, it is very light. Just over 23 lb. The SRAM AXS is super cool and lightweight, and and SRAM Level brakes are excellent, although not quite as good as the reliable Shimano XT. The Stan's Podium rims and Shwalbe tires are great, and the Fox suspension makes even the roughest trails that CA has to offer seem like a cloud.

The only beef I have with the Ryve 100 is that while the Living Link makes for no pedal bob, it is difficult to wash. All those bearings and linkage arms are hard to get to with a brush or a chamois. Other than that, absolutely nothing but praise for the Ryve 100. It truly is the ultimate racing machine, as well as a great bike to just go out and bust some miles and have fun.
