Oh, the places you will go on your Spot Rallye!
I don’t usually write reviews, but the people at Spot have been amazing in their help on bike set up. The least I could do is give them a solid back in a review.
I’ve had the Rallye for 3 weeks now and have taken the bike on several big rides. South Table, check. North Table, check. Waterton Canyon, check. Colorado Trail, check. Phantom Canyon and Shelf Road, check.
Every time out, the bike performed flawlessly which says a lot. This bike is great on gravel roads, but it really excels when the going gets rough. The bike didn’t flinch on the mountain bike trails on North Table or the Colorado Trail. It was even more amazing handling the fast rutted and washboard descent on Shelf road.
The bike handles well on tarmac too. Coming down Golden Gate Road I got the bike up to 54 MPH and felt totally confident and comfortable carving turns and enjoyed the much earned downhill.
I have a Santa Cruz Stigmata, which is an awesome bike, I have to say I like my new Rallye even more. The geometry just feels perfect. The Stigmata is more of a road/cross bike feel, whereas the Rallye feels more confidence inspiring and planted. The geo with a longer top tube and shorter stem really works.
You can take the Rallye literally anywhere, which is exactly what I want in a gravel bike. The Rallye is extremely comfortable and absorbs a bunch of the trail chatter without feeling dead or disconnected.
Go get yourself a Spot Rallye and go get lost!
