Testimonials

I wanted to wait until I had several rides under my belt on varied terrain and conditions. Two words sum it up...Farging Outstanding!

//Robert Furr

I'm really pleased with this bike. I was worried this bike would feel "big" because of it's travel on AZ trails which vary from very tight, rocky technical to long and flowing XC.

//Jason S.

It has been good. Stable climbing smooth down hill makes all the tight switch backs up and down no concerns. Ride on...

SPOT ROLLIK 150 REVIEW

... the Rollik was still an absolute missile. The Living Link system performed flawlessly and felt incredibly stiff laterally while giving more than ample mid-stroke support. The bike can be characterized as very playful and is the perfect bike to get out and have fun on ... it’s one of the few bikes that I’ve ridden that always leaves me smiling and jibbing every single feature on the way up and...

THE MOST EFFICIENT 150-MILLIMETER BIKE OUT THERE

Spot's Living Link suspension platform delivers one of the most pedal-efficient rides on the planet. Couple this to the latest Rollik 150, featuring 10 extra millimeters of suspension front and rear, and you've got a pretty unique machine. With 150 millimeters of rear wheel travel, and 160 up front, the Rollik is more capable than ever, but it still climbs with the agility of an XC bike.

MF TESTED: SPOT BRAND ROLLIK 557

“I think that’s where the Rollik fits: It’s for the cross country rider who wants to go bigger, the trail rider who might dabble in XC, and the warriors hunting epic singletrack.”

FIVE HOT MOUNTAIN BIKES FOR 2017

We’ve long appreciated Spot for its put-together single-speeds and belt-drive ethos, but we never expected them to show up with a highly refined, full-squish, all-mountain ripper built around a brand new suspension design. But that’s exactly what they’ve done with the Rollik.

feature-row__image

WAY TO GO, SPOT.

The Rollik is a trailbike like none other and loves climbing up the trails as much as it loves darting back down... For a trailbike, this thing can seriously climb. The Rollik is a mountain goat... The Rollik was designed with out-of-the-box thinking, and that is what makes it so fun to ride. This bike is an absolute trail killer.”

feature-row__image

THE SPOT ROLLIK 557 IS A PRETTY DAMN IMPRESSIVE TRAIL BIKE

The first thing I noticed was how crisp the Rollik feels at the pedals. It’s quick to accelerate and resists suspension movement well enough that I could leave the shock in the open mode everywhere but on paved climbs.

A NIMBLE AND HIGHLY INNOVATIVE TRAIL BIKE

The Spot Rollik 557 is an innovative, clever, and functional rig that is a serious contender for those riders who can only afford one “kick ass” mountain bike. Its balance of descending ability, cornering agility, climbing prowess, and lively feel thanks to the Living Link composite plate make the Rollik a must-ride.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: SPOT BRAND ROLLIK 557

Right out of the gate, the Rollik offered a familiar and satisfying ride. The geometry, handling, and suspension performance is right up there with the best bikes we’ve ridden. The 76 degree seat tube angle makes in-the-saddle climbing comfortable and efficient and all the angles add up to a nicely balanced ride for solid cornering and good overall stability.

What a bike!

I've been mountain biking for 6-7 years now, and owned about 4 high-end full-suspension bikes. This blows my past three bikes out of the water by far. I think I'll actually stay on this bike for the foreseeable future.

It pedals so well. I have burly Maxxis Minion tires on it and I'm still clobbering my old PRs since I got this thing. Gives a firm platform, yet the rear end gets up and out the way when you hit rocky, techy stuff (I'm in Las Vegas - lots of rocks on rocks to climb over).

Going downhill, this bike will take everything I'd want to ride, plus more. When I take 3-4 foot drops to flat, this bike doesn't flinch. It is more playful than plush, and I enjoy popping off every little rock or lip I can find with ease. It'll still keep its composure just fine on fast, rough terrain, it just isn't a complete "I'll smooth all this out for you" kind of bike, which I personally prefer.

Oh yea, and the color is amazing. Haute Tomato for the win.

2 Seasons and still loving it

Coming from an old school, 2016 Stumpy 29, I was concerned about losing efficiency and wasted energy when climbing, but to my surprise, the Rollik is actually a better climber! Going down, I'm hitting more features, catching air and having more fun than I ever had before. I'm so much more confident and so much faster on the Rollik, although, I'm sure I'll never really push this bike to it's full potential. My only problem is all the time I spend waiting for my buddies at the bottom of the descents.

Zero Regrets, Great Times

After a year of riding the Rollik 150, I feel great about this purchase! I'm based in Park City, UT and ride 3x/week for 7-8 months out of the year. Honestly, I'd buy the next gen of this model if it sees certain upgrades, which leads me to the pros and cons of the bike:

Pros:

1) Climbs like a fiend in technical terrain. Pedaling uphill in Moab, Grand Junction, and Vegas is a blast on this bike.

2) The Living Link provides support when you need to pedal hard out of the saddle. It also adds noticeable traction on flat corners.

3) Super fun and agile on descents. You can pump or pop off every little terrain feature.

4) It takes up 2.6 to tires. The combo of 2.6 in front + 2.4 in back makes for a grippy yet fast ride.

5) The components are well chosen (if you're a heavier rider though, you might find the SRAM G2 RSC brakes on the 5-star build to be underpowered...I still miss the CODE Rs from my last bike).

6) Spot customer service is great! They answer emails promptly and quickly ship out parts when you need them.

Cons

1) The reach is becoming outdated for a size medium bike of this capability. That can be a gift for shorter riders (I'm 5'7" / 160 lbs geared up). Comparable bikes are hitting reach between 440 and 460.

2) The downtube protection is insufficient for what this bike can do. I cracked the front triangle within two weeks of buying the bike. The rock (which I never felt) cut through the foam protection near the bottom bracket. Even after that bill, I STILL love…

Awesome bike!

After a few rides under the belt and getting the suspension to were I like it. It's been a super fun bike to shred! Handles so good on the downhills and jumps. Such a fun bike for the Sedona weekend trips:)
