Climbing's hard. That's why we engineer ways to make it less hard. Stomp the pedals out of the saddle and the Diggity answers like an XC bike. Power through tech sections and it tracks like it's reading the trail in advance. The kinematics dish out the right amount of suspension in every situation. Living Link is the reason a Spot rides like a Spot. The third generation is the most evolved version of the platform yet, and on the Diggity, we’ve taken it further still.

Linkage and frame are packaged tighter, pulling mass toward the bike’s center for sharper handling and a more agile feel. The anti-squat curve is tuned with a narrower focus: Peak values land directly in the sag range where you actually pedal, and drop off cleanly at either end of the stroke so the suspension stays free to work when the bike is loaded or unloaded. More peak anti-squat. Less chain growth. A pedaling platform without the trade-offs.

What you feel is a bike that climbs efficiently without ever feeling locked out, finds traction in places other bikes slip, and stays calm when the trail gets chaotic. The platform is constantly working to maintain momentum and composure, so you can level up your riding game every time out.

We design every bike in-house, from the ground up — suspension layout, kinematics, cable ports, pivot hardware, every bit of the industrial design — under one roof, by one team. We aren’t beholden to a licensed platform, an outside design firm, or an off-the-shelf anything. We own the look, the feel, and the function of every bike we make, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

What kinematics is, and why it matters

Kinematics is the nerd word for what your suspension feels like and how it behaves. It's also where most of the bad behavior in a bike comes from. If you've ever experienced overly squishy suspension every pedal stroke, or a really harsh ride even though you're using all the travel, or, a total loss of traction while pedaling or braking, that all traces back to choices the designers made — or didn't make — about kinematics.

Spot Living Link bikes don't do those things. We obsess over the nuances of suspension behavior because it makes the difference between a confident bike and a sketchy one. We know that as riders, our most precious resource is energy. so we toil over features that preserve it. It's why once riders discover Spot, they never want to ride anything else.

Anti-squat is the parameter that makes suspension bikes pedal efficiently. Too little and the suspension bobs and saps your energy. Too much in the wrong part of the travel and the rear wheel can't track the ground, sacrificing grip. Either way, you lose.

The third-generation Living Link layout lets us place peak anti-squat directly in the sag range — the part of the travel where you spend nearly all your time pedaling — and let it drop off cleanly above and below. The result is a bike that converts your power efficiently when you're putting it down, and stays free to absorb the trail when you aren't. No lockout lever required. No fighting the bike for its travel.

Most suspension systems give you a steady ramp of force from top to bottom of the stroke. Living Link uses an inverted leaf spring layout that lets us change direction along the curve.

At full extension, a steeper initial curve makes the suspension easy to initiate — soft hands, soft touchdown. Through sag, the curve flattens and stays linear, giving easier access to the deeper parts of travel without needing aggressive air-spring progression to get there. Then, around three-quarters in, the curve switches direction and ramps up — building bottom-out support without compromising sensitivity earlier in the stroke.

The leaf spring itself does double duty. It acts as a negative spring at top out, helping with that soft initiation, and as a positive spring partway through the stroke, straightening the mid-travel curve. The end result is a ride that delivers traction when lightly loaded, support when you're driving into it, and bottom-out protection when you finally need it — without having to tune any of those into the shock.

The Slaybar architecture lets the down tube and seat tube share the loads coming out of the shock and linkage. Forces get focused into the central frame sections instead of dumped at the tips, so the middle of the bike is the stiffest part — a longbow-style flex distribution that puts material where it's working and removes it where it isn't. It's the best strength-to-frame-weight ratio we've ever built.

The Diggity's suspension system is condensed and pulled toward the center of the bike. Aluminum hardware is pared down to its minimum form. Front and rear triangles use small, slim sections. Every move is in service of two things — minimizing total mass and lowering the center of gravity. The bike that comes out the other side is more nimble, more responsive, and more agile under the rider.

Pivots stay tight and quiet because that's a non-negotiable. SprockLock replaces friction-based pivot hardware with a true mechanical interlock — a splined axle and a locking cap that key directly into the frame so nothing can back out under load. Fewer parts. Simpler service. Failsafe. And because all pivot fasteners are accessed from the non-drive side, the drive-side stays clean — uninterrupted lines and almost no visible hardware.

The Diggity rides on six pivot bearings — Enduro dual-row full-complement, all the same size, all mounted in the links rather than pressed into the frame. Every bearing also gets an external secondary seal to keep moisture and grit out of the race. Service is simpler, parts inventory is smaller, and the frame itself never sees a bearing bore. That's how it should be.

Nobody does cable ports cleaner than this. Instead of molding metal threads into carbon to cinch port covers down, we came up with something more elegant — a single fastener ties both sides of the port together and threads directly into the drive-side cover. Hot Diggity

It's crazy how good bikes are and this "Dig" is no exception. This bike will pretty much cover all riding disciplines with exceptional ease. Fast uphill with-out having to mess with lock outs, super fun playful descending, and you didn't forget to unlock it, cause it wasn't lock in the first place!

I've had all the Spot bikes from 2016 and this one is right on target as the Mayhem 140's little sister. I've been asked why bother with the M140 since the travel is kinda close. But it is a different ride and the M140 rides bigger than its travel number suggests. In my humble opinion the M140 fits a wider comfort range for bigger descending style rides yet climbs better than most 130mm bikes. While the Diggity accommodates longer style rides that may have the same type of descending but its all-round quickness, even more ease of climbing and overall lighter tighter package that takes precedent. Think high alpine rides and long Buffalo Creek rides but descents are actually fun vs a true XC style bike. The shorter travel just takes the efficiency of the Living Link to the next level for a "Down County" (yes, I said it) bike. It's just fast!

Build wise the bike can be a 26lb Whippet or a 30lb Greyhound, take your pick! I've got a bunch of rides and the potential for speed is a little nuts. My original thought of the Whippet build might slowly move to a light Greyhound build, cause she wants to run!

I have been a long-time SPOT Bikes customer, and while every SPOT I have owned has been an exceptional bike, the SPOT Diggity 125 is a step above—even for SPOT, which is a bold statement!

I was fortunate enough to demo the Diggity 125 in early July (THANKS, RYAN!), and after just one ride, I knew I wanted to own one. Proof is in the pudding—and I highly encourage you to demo one for yourself. Just a word of warning: if you ride the Diggity 125, there is a very good chance you are going to want to buy it!

For those familiar with the SPOT lineup, the Diggity 125 feels like the perfect combination of the Ryve and the Mayhem. It climbs with the efficiency and responsiveness of the Ryve while descending with the confidence and capability of the Mayhem. The SPOT design team somehow managed to take the best characteristics of both bikes and blend them into one incredible riding machine.

What really sets the Diggity 125 apart, though, is the overall riding experience. It is incredibly responsive, efficient, playful, and confident. It climbs exceptionally well without sacrificing its ability to charge downhill, and it has that rare quality that makes you want to keep riding just to experience what the bike can do next. Great bike for a banged up rider

I demoed the Diggity after a night at Red Rocks and was not in top form that morning. I took it to Lair O’ The Bear out & back and Rutabaga downhill which I had ridden the day before on my Mayhem 130. The Diggity was a delight to ride on a foggy morning for me. It’s by far the best pedaling full suspension I’ve ridden and it ate up the downhill with ease. The Diggity is an absolute rocket up and down the trail and I plan to purchase one in the near future. If you’ve been considering a Spot, this is the one to do it all. The blue color looks great in person by the way.

I'm a convert!

This is my 1st Spot. I've had 3 Santa Cruz, a Cannondale and few other brands along my MTB journey. Had thought of myself as a Santa Cruz guy until now. This is the smoothest bike I've ever ridden! The Diggity turns up the fun factor both climbing and rip'n down. Climbs are efficient, controlled and provide more power getting over technical sections. Downhill the Diggity just want to give you more. My rides are longer, less fatiguing and full of smiles, what more could I ask.

An Honest Review from a Serial Bike Flipper

The N+0 Bike (Just mountain bikes. I'm not insane.)

I've been waiting for this bike.

Full transparency: I've always loved the SPOT platform and the Living Link suspension. I've owned early generations of the Mayhem and the Ryve, and while they were both great bikes, I realized I wasn't really waiting for those. I was waiting for the Diggity.

While I waited, I did what any reasonable mountain biker does. I bought and sold, in order, a Spur, Epic, S-Works Stumpjumper, Smuggler, and Allied BC40. Every one of them was good. Some were great. None of them made me stop looking.

I think the bike industry needs a new category for the Diggity. And let's be honest, the bike industry has never met a new category it didn't like.

I'm calling this XT: XC on the way up, Trail on the way down. Or maybe Up Trail. Marketing departments, you're welcome. Pretty sure ”Downcountry” is dead anyway.

I live in Park City, where you can connect hundreds of miles of trail into one 2hr ride. My perfect loop has a long, steady climb with just enough tech to keep you honest, transitions into a little chunky singletrack, and finishes with one of Deer Valley's fast flow trails.

The Diggity feels like it was built specifically for that ride.

It climbs like a homesick angel. Not in the "this is pretty good for a trail bike" kind of way. It just climbs. It rewards you for standing, rewards you for spinning, and somehow makes you forget you're pedaling a bike that's this much fun on the descent.
