Testimonials

I’m in the process of tricking-out my new Acme, but you all were very easy to work with, and MAN!, that Acme is one sexy bike! I’m extremely happy and proud that I can buy such a great bike locally.

//Neil C.

I received the Spot Acme three weeks ago and it was love at first sight. It arrives about 90% assembled, and for those of you who are not handy at all (like me), I found a YouTube video that walks you through the final assembly steps.

//Rob Martin

Spot was extremly fast by responding all my questions in advance, shipping overseas went absolutely fast and easy. The bike is just awesome, I love it!

EDITORS' CHOICE | THE SPOT ACME HAS AN UPSCALE PARTS MENU AND A TASTE FOR SPEED

My first ride on the Spot Acme did not have me riding alongside traffic or waiting for red lights to turn. I wasn’t in a hurry, and I didn’t have a destination. I was simply cruising at a neighborhood pace, alone with my thoughts (how many years do I have left before my little boy values stupid talk with his buddies over quality time with his mom?). For this, the Acme’s flat bar and endurance-like geometry put me in a more aggressive position than an upright city bike (like the Civia Lowry Step-Thru). Still, I found myself taking it as slow and casual as I do on those types of bikes, and never felt that the Acme wanted—or needed—to go faster. And yet, on a mixed-pace ride (this time, with my friend Jimmy), the Acme quickly zipped along busy streets, let me comfortably spin up a switchback path, jumped without hesitation at every green light, and even let me slow down long enough to witness the absolute best head of feathered white hair on a guy who clearly worshipped Whitesnake during its heyday (and his). If an initial investment of $2,000 for a city bike is hard to swallow, consider this. You could save yourself a few hundred bucks and get something that looks and rides like a dream now, but doesn’t have the components to keep up with your daily miles and abuse. Or you could get a bike from Spot, a family-owned company based in Golden, Colorado, that has deep roots in cycling design, engineering, and innovation. The Acme is just one result of this commitment. It’s a solid, unassuming bike that doesn’t compromise quality and comfort by skimping on, well, anything.

THE BEST ROAD BIKES 2020

Part road bike, part mountain bike, and smooth-sailing all day long—the Spot Acme brings the best of each to your daily commute. An aluminum frame paired with a carbon fiber fork help make the Acme feel quick and lively, while its upright riding position allows you to slow down and enjoy the cruise. You’ll have more time to enjoy the ride too, because with a belt drive system there is no need to spend time cleaning and oiling the chain. The belt drive has other advantages as well: no more greasy stains on clothing from the chain, and it’s silent. You never realize how noisy a chain can be until there isn’t one. The internally geared rear hub has a wide range, with low gearing for the steepest hills and higher options for sustained speed when the terrain is flat. The relatively smooth, wide tires roll easily, absorb imperfections in the road, and inspire spirited blasts of speed. And, when it comes time to slow down, the Acme is equipped with powerful hydraulic disc brakes.

Fantastic bike!

The Acme is everything I wanted in a commuter/fitness bike. Great for back and forth to work, the grocery store, coffee shop, etc.. Plus it’s fun to spin up some miles on the bike paths. The service with sizing, fit, and pickup were top notch, too!

Awesome commuter!

I built up my Acme with a set of dyno lights, fenders, and a rear rack. This is the ultimate commuter bike. Love the handling of the bike. The stock bar was a bit too narrow for someone who is used to wider mountain bars - I upgrade to a 740mm bar.
