Testimonials

I wanted to wait until I had several rides under my belt on varied terrain and conditions. Two words sum it up...Farging Outstanding!

//Robert Furr

I'm really pleased with this bike. I was worried this bike would feel "big" because of it's travel on AZ trails which vary from very tight, rocky technical to long and flowing XC.

It has been good. Stable climbing smooth down hill makes all the tight switch backs up and down no concerns. Ride on...

SPOT ROLLIK 150 REVIEW

... the Rollik was still an absolute missile. The Living Link system performed flawlessly and felt incredibly stiff laterally while giving more than ample mid-stroke support. The bike can be characterized as very playful and is the perfect bike to get out and have fun on ... it’s one of the few bikes that I’ve ridden that always leaves me smiling and jibbing every single feature on the way up and...

THE MOST EFFICIENT 150-MILLIMETER BIKE OUT THERE

Spot's Living Link suspension platform delivers one of the most pedal-efficient rides on the planet. Couple this to the latest Rollik 150, featuring 10 extra millimeters of suspension front and rear, and you've got a pretty unique machine. With 150 millimeters of rear wheel travel, and 160 up front, the Rollik is more capable than ever, but it still climbs with the agility of an XC bike.

MF TESTED: SPOT BRAND ROLLIK 557

“I think that’s where the Rollik fits: It’s for the cross country rider who wants to go bigger, the trail rider who might dabble in XC, and the warriors hunting epic singletrack.”

FIVE HOT MOUNTAIN BIKES FOR 2017

We’ve long appreciated Spot for its put-together single-speeds and belt-drive ethos, but we never expected them to show up with a highly refined, full-squish, all-mountain ripper built around a brand new suspension design. But that’s exactly what they’ve done with the Rollik.

feature-row__image

WAY TO GO, SPOT.

The Rollik is a trailbike like none other and loves climbing up the trails as much as it loves darting back down... For a trailbike, this thing can seriously climb. The Rollik is a mountain goat... The Rollik was designed with out-of-the-box thinking, and that is what makes it so fun to ride. This bike is an absolute trail killer.”

feature-row__image

THE SPOT ROLLIK 557 IS A PRETTY DAMN IMPRESSIVE TRAIL BIKE

The first thing I noticed was how crisp the Rollik feels at the pedals. It’s quick to accelerate and resists suspension movement well enough that I could leave the shock in the open mode everywhere but on paved climbs.

A NIMBLE AND HIGHLY INNOVATIVE TRAIL BIKE

The Spot Rollik 557 is an innovative, clever, and functional rig that is a serious contender for those riders who can only afford one “kick ass” mountain bike. Its balance of descending ability, cornering agility, climbing prowess, and lively feel thanks to the Living Link composite plate make the Rollik a must-ride.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: SPOT BRAND ROLLIK 557

Right out of the gate, the Rollik offered a familiar and satisfying ride. The geometry, handling, and suspension performance is right up there with the best bikes we’ve ridden. The 76 degree seat tube angle makes in-the-saddle climbing comfortable and efficient and all the angles add up to a nicely balanced ride for solid cornering and good overall stability.

Confidence Building Perfection

From the first few peddle strokes on the Rollik I knew this was the bike for me. It climbs like no other bike with this much travel. It is super efficient on the longest and most difficult climbs. But, what we all want to is to fly down hill. That is when you realize this bike will take care of you like that favorite blanket you had growing up. You feel like nothing will get in your way! All I can say is this bike was a game changer for me and you can't go wrong.

Probably the perfect one quiver bike

I was looking for a bike that climbs. I've had a fair number of bikes from Trek, Ibis and Knolly. This one is substantially better for me. It climbs better than my Ibis, descends better than my Knolly. I don't pretend to understand how the Living Link works, I only know it's legit. I've cleared a double handful technical ups and downs for the first time. So what's my experience with this bike? I think I received one of the first production runs of this model (150) and have been riding it hard for a year and a half from my home trails at Lake Tahoe to the Pacific Northwest and Moab and Hurricane. I'm a set and forget type of rider so after trying the low mode I returned to standard mode and am really happy there. To sum up my thoughts: I don't feel this is a plow bike. But if you like pick your lines, jump some drops, no-dab those tight switchbacks all while being able to handle the gnarliest of terrain, this bike is for you.

Rollik 150 5 Star Build

I wanted to wait until I had several rides under my belt on varied terrain and conditions. Two words sum it up...Farging Outstanding! I have demoed many bikes and borrowed bikes from friends including some very high end whips. Yeti SB 5+, Evil Reckoning, Ibis, Pivots and the list goes on. I took the time to set the demo rides up with the sag and rebound as well as tire pressures in the range that I like. Some of these bikes were obviously in a different league than my old Giant Trance 2, but some of them really were not much different or better in any real meaningful way. But I can say, out of all the bikes I have ridden, none of them "surged" up the punchy climbs like this Rollik does. It just scoots when you apply power and the balance between the axles makes lifting front and back ends up and over obstacals so easy. I set my sag a little too stiff front and back at first worried that it would be too squishy, but settled at a bit over 30 percent fork and a tad more than that maybe 32 for the shock. I really have to see a big hit to bottom it out so I may let a few more PSI out on both. And at this sag, it still flies up the climbs. Very quick to change directions yet in a very controlled planted manner. I had already ordered some Maxxis rubber at 2.6 DHF front and 2.5 Aggressor rear, but the Hans Dampf are actually pretty darn good on this bike so I will ride them till they are toast. I'm 65 years old, 5'10" 185lbs and this large frame fits like a glove.

Great Bike!

I'm really pleased with this bike. I was worried this bike would feel "big" because of it's travel on AZ trails which vary from very tight, rocky technical to long and flowing XC. It does have the long travel capabilities but it doesn't feel "big" at all. It's very playful and rides "smaller" than it's travel would imply. However, the travel is there when you ask for it. The Rollik climbs as good as good as I could hope, descends with confidence and pedals great. Overall, I'm super satisfied with my Rollik 150!
